GENERAL TERMS and CONDITIONS

  • Please take out all your belongings from the goods. Kindly be informed that we do not accept dust bag to prevent any losses. Bags Butler’s purpose is to revive the bag condition as similar as possible to its original condition. Please be informed that a handbag after services will not become a brand-new bag.
  • After your item (s) have been picked up, the experts will check and assess the physical conditions then we will forward any important remarks with pictures to you by 7-14 working days. In some case should we discovered any repairable parts which is not included in the initial service we may suggest to do additional service to improve/maximize the results. It’s an optional offer to decide whether to proceed or skip the recommendations.
  • Before any services, some unseen hair line cracks or any inner damage that are unseen or not mentioned to our staff will be based on our photo as proof. (After coloring or cleaning some damage will be more visible as all dust and dirt will be cleaned away and sometime it may be more visible at the end result). The pictures will be taken by the team under specialized studio box with advanced lighting which is specifically designed to capture every detail of each item conditions.
  • Once the item (s) are used, any damage can occur. It may have any unseen damages that can only be seen after the services. As we are unable to notice every damage before we service the item, we don’t hold any responsibility for it.
  • As each customer have different expectations on their items upon sending in for service. Kindly mention to us about the part that you are most concerned with or need to take extra note on before we service your items, otherwise we shall prosecute our SOP.
  • Customers are receiving our services under fully explanations circumstances as mentioned above. Any bad reviews shall not be given online as terms and conditions have been given and explained to our customers. Please note that there will be no refund or any compensation to be made and actions will be taken should there be any bad reviews or untrue comments by customers.
  • We hold the right to refund or re-service on any items should the customer is not satisfied with the result.
  • All of the service we provide is 100% done manually by hand (cleaning or color restoration may only make your item cleaner or more even color but will not recover any physical damage, items after repair may still be damaged after some time subject to normal wear and tear).
  • We are handling with care and value every servicing item (s) from our customers, in order to meet customers satisfaction and company’s reputation. However, there might be unwanted incidents to happen (which is very rare). It is advisable any of the customers with high sentimental value or zero tolerance in any mistakes, to consider carefully before sending item (s) for service.

Cleaning is a process of the item being cleaned both the interior and exterior. It will also include polishing metal hardware. As different material and different areas of the items need different cleaning agents and cleaning methods, it will take some time to do so. Cleaning can help to keep your bag hygienic and mould free. Some stains could be removed, some could only be lightened and some stubborn stains would remain after cleaning. As different goods have different conditions, we will need to clean it first to know the final outcomes of each item. Basically, cleaning helps to maintain the bag to make it last longer and provide the necessary care needed. Cleaning will take approximately 6-8 Weeks depending on the results too, if further cleaning is needed it will take more time for extra treatment.

There are a few possibilities of cleaning results for different cases, such as:

  1. Fabric, canvas, nylon material items have the best cleaning affect, please note that after cleaning, it might become coarse/furry.
  2. Exotic leather such as snake skin, crocodile skin, ostrich skin, and faux fur, will have limited cleaning results due to fragility.
  3. Patent leather or PVC glossy leather will have minimum results of cleaning if it has been stained. For this material, once it has been discolored, it will be permanent, coloring to black would be recommended.
  4. Suede leather which has various length of fur, this type can be cleaned too but if it has been stained, it will have low chances of removal. In some special cases, dark stains will be lightened after cleaning. And suede leather after cleaning, it would be dry, stiff, and might be slightly crumpled too.
  5. Vachetta leather mostly found / attached on Louis Vuitton. Such material categorized as one of the most sensitive leathers as it could be easily stained by water drops and might become permanent water stain. For a serious mould issue on Vachetta leather can caused a stubborn stain left on the leather, cleaning will only help to slightly lighten the stains, otherwise it will remain there. The cleaning results of each bag is much depending on the leather condition. It would turn darker or lighter after cleaning, depending on the bag condition.
  6. Colour fading might occur after cleaning for some materials, depending on the original condition of the item too. For instance; if you have a canvas bag with two colour tones (black and white), there is a risk that canvas colour might fade after cleaning.
  7. Furry threads on stitches might occur after cleaning (all materials), depending on the original condition of the bag itself.
  8. Damages such as torn material, bruises, peeling, fraying or any material with holes might expand after cleaning, depending on the condition of the material itself, repairing may be required.
  9. Stains would only be lightened by cleaning service and it has low possibilities to be totally gone. For instance; yellowish stain, glue stain, colour transfer stain, water stain, pen ink stain, jeans stain, oil stain, or any anonymous stain, etc.

    Note: Colour restoration will be recommended to fully cover any stains (depending on material)

  10. Any glue oxidation may occur without any visible sign as it occurred from its hidden based material. Please be noted that, any existed glue oxidation hidden from its base material might pop up to visible to its surface after its cleaning service and resulted sticky texture.
  11. Adhesive glue stain will occur due to oxidization and it could happen on both leather and non-leather item. The results for this issue are limited; but do not worry, we will try our best to remove as much as we can. In addition, glue oxidization will cause discolouration even colour transfer.
  12. Stickiness has two circumstances. First one is normally caused by the contact of palm sweat, hand lotion, oil, etc. which then cleaning will be able to remove the stickiness. Second possibility is due to high temperatures, hot weather, and improper storage, it could also cause the material to oxidize, and for this case, cleaning results are very limited. In some serious cases, the stickiness might remain.
  13. Mould occurs due to improper storage, each time usage or humid weather. Cleaning process will be able to remove mould and disinfect the items for hygienic purposes. However, in a serious case of mould, it will leave stain on the item and cause the colour of the item to change rapidly. If this occurs to your items (bag, wallet and etc.) cleaning wouldn’t be able to remove the mould stain, coloring may be recommended (for Leather or Patent materials only).

    Note: For mould issue, after cleaning, it may or may not come back as it depends on the storage and humid weather. We are highly recommended to our customers to store the bags in an opened-air room/ ventilated room. The best advice we could suggest you is to use/carry the bag frequently.

    Most customers would put a dehumidifier or moisture absorber in the goods’ storage. However, if dehumidifier or moisture absorber fluid once contacted to goods, it can leave a permanent damaged on the goods.

  14. Discolouration usually happens to normal wear and tear; it is a common occurrence. Please take note that cleaning will not help to recover the colour unless you proceed to Coloring services (Leather or Patent materials only).
  15. Metal oxidization is due to combination of weather, moisture, storage and sometimes chemicals. If it has oxidized, it will remain the same even after polishing. We are unable to restore the metal hardware unless proceeding for gold plating.
  16. Metal hardware will be polished to make it look shinier. If the hardware has been spoilt/rusted/tarnished or scratched, even after polishing it will remain the same.
  17. Gold / Silver plating result may vary conditions. Please note that there will be chances of a metal hardware might turn to an unsatisfying result! It still depends on how its parts react to its metal oxide on the surface.
  18. Un-refurbished cases such as scratches, wrinkles, dent marks, press marks, shrunken leather, burnt material, out of shape issue, will remain the same after services.
  19. Adhesive residues cannot be cleaned off with one-time service, as the residue will come out again sooner or later. The cleaning results for this case are limited but we will try our best to remove it without harming the bag. If it occurs again, we will advise you to wipe it off using cotton buds.

    Note: Mostly occurs on metal hardware

  20. Smell (mildew/mould/odor) could only be reduced by cleaning. But if the substances have been absorbed into the material, the smell will remain.
  21. Crystal coating can be removed. This coating is normally found on Gucci (external coating), Louis Vuitton (inner pocket). We will recommend to do removal of crystal coating when it starts to oxidize and it will leave to a fabric material only. Coating oxidization can be discovered when there is peeling, cracking, stickiness, or melting.

Important Note: It is common that items appear to be stiffer and a dry after its cleaning service, it is due to removal of the dirt, dust, germs, oil and etc. from the bag itself. Items can be more natural after a period of usage.

Colour restore means to recolour the items back to the original colour. Colouring is more suitable for leather materials. A physical sample of the colour is to be provided; otherwise our specialists will find the cleanest part on the leather to be the colour reference. Customers can also show us the area they think can be colour reference. Please take note that we will be able to restore the colour to 85-95% of similarity. The outcome of colouring is very much depending on the original condition of the goods after collection. Colouring services do not repair the leather’s damaged conditions. This service will take approximately 3-4 months.

  1. Colour changing is possible. When the item has been badly discoloured, we will still be able to restore back to the original colour, otherwise you may go for colour changing. Customers are required to provide us a physical colour sample or picture samples for colour references. Kindly note that pictures might show up slightly dissimilar in different devices due to lighting. Please be informed too that colour changing is not recommended as if there is harsh friction or deep scratches, the original base colour will be revealed and obvious.
  2. Lead time of colour restore whole process will take approximately the earliest by 3 months. It depends on how well the absorption will be. Normally when it is done, we will put it under a specialized room to further observe the final works. In the last stage of finishing, it will be waterproofing, which may take a week or so to dry up. Sometimes, we might need extra service of touch up too, especially the area that are hardly reached for colouring.
  3. Two colour tones in the same surface or the same leather piece, will be coloured to one colour tone only. For example, Louis Vuitton epi leather, or Givenchy Pepe design, they basically have one darker colour and a lighter colour, but we can only proceed with one colour tone (which is the darker tone).
  4. Metallic colours like gold, silver or any other colour with metallic effects is not advisable for colour restore as the colour will easily fade off. We may suggest to non-metalic and darker colour.
  5. Scratches may be covered. Colour restore will be able to conceal mild scratches. But if it is deep scratches, colouring will only make it look less obvious. Also, the marks will still be visible.
  6. Damages such as peeling, torn, cracking, scuffing, wrinkles and creases will still be visible even it will be less obvious after colouring service.
  7. Imprint logo will be kept original as per-customer’s request. However, if Imprint logo has badly faded off, it is recommended to cover it off with colour paint
  8. Suede leather can be coloured but it will turn out coarse and stiff. Other kind of suede leather will be Nubuck material. This kind might be shiny after colouring as it has the shortest fur. Hence, for general suede leather, as the length of fur is various, there will be uneven part to be seen after colouring
  9. Non-leather such as fabric, canvas, nylon, or jeans can be colour restored but it is not advisable. Colouring on these materials will cause coarseness and stiffness.
  10. Threads of stitches will be coloured too and it will be the same colour tone with the surrounding leather. Moreover, the threads (especially cotton material) will be a bit furry and stiff after colouring.
  11. Side trimming rubber/gel will be kept original if the condition is still good. Meaning that after whole item is coloured, trimming rubber/gel will be wiped off. However, if the rubber/gel has been damaged (cracking or peeling), we will cover it off with new colour paint, just like the item’s new colour. It will still be seen, unless you do replacement of the side trimming rubber/gel. Pricing is various depending on the complexity of each spot.
  12. Wear and tear after service. After colour restore, the goods will be subject to normal wear and tear. Please be informed that edges, corners, handles are the most sensitive areas and they tend to be fade faster than other parts. It is due to previous usage or storage. Our warranty will cover only 14 days after you receive the goods, after 14 days period is over, we are not able to take in for reservice unless extended warranty is purchased. Note : After coloring there is a possibility it will appear/feel to be stiffer and slightly dry, it is due to removal of the dirt, dust, germs, oil and colour dye was applied.
  13. Exotic leather such as snake skin, crocodile skin, ostrich skin and faux fur, depending on item’s conditions, and can be only done in one colour toned.
  14. Patent leather material can be colored, but highly suggested to go for Black color, there are chances the outcome will be matte or glossy depending on the conditions of the item itself.
  15. Patterned leather is the kind of leather with brand signature printings. We are unable to restore this material. Patterned leather items are such as Burberry (PVC), Louis Vuitton (Monogram, Damier), MCM (logo patterns), Gucci (Canvas), etc.
  16. Unprocessed leather, patina leather or vachetta leather we are able to do coloring but threads will become the same color of the new dye.
  17. Metal hardware like buckles, studs, rings, zipper, or chain, or any metal hardwares are not included in any leather colouring services. When it comes to any metal hardware, we will do polishing to make them look shinier only. If it has already oxidized/ rusted/ tarnished or scratched, it will remain the same even after polishing. We are unable to restore the metal hardware but we can minimize its deficient appearance by doing gold plating.
  18. Any colouration service on the leather and near to its link fabric material parts, or on the leather opening line link to its fabric, may cause a dyeware seeping to its fabric (between leather and fabric material). If any dyeware seeping into fabric, any deepen cleaning may bring to a damage to its material, our expert will try their best to clean and minimize the stain.
  • When you have submitted an order through online, we will proceed to goods collection arrangement. Our courier team will first sort out the route then will contact you within 24 – 48 hours (exclude weekends) for setting up a pickup date and time frame which fits into your availability.
  • Bags Butler only provides 1 (one) time pickup and 1 (one) time delivery for each customer/ order number. Any additional pickup or delivery request will be charged at $15 SGD.
  • The pickup/ delivery time frame will be 8am – 5pm (Mon-Sat). PH & Sunday will be off day/ resting. So kindly allow 2-3 hours time frame for the arrangement as sometimes there might be delay from previous customers and traffic issue.
  • Any specific date and timing request will be charged at $15 SGD per trip. For example, “Please pickup on Saturday 24th of March at 3pm only”.
  • Any changes in time frame, pickup/delivery date, postponement request, or cancellation, kindly inform our courier team within 24 hours before the confirmed date and time.
  • Any last minutes changes on the arranged date and time or no show up, there will be a charge of $15 SGD to be borne by the customer.
  • Any cancellation after order placed, $60-$100 SGD will be charged for transportation fee and the stage of service.
  • Customers may settle the payment via PayNow!, or Bank Transfer for the extra charge (if any). We will proceed to servicing once the payment has been settled.
  • After an initial arrangement call is made, our courier team will drop you a confirmation message on the day of collection/delivery. Kindly response the message for the final confirmation in order for the items to be picked up/delivered.
  • Kindly make sure you clear up your belongings from your goods. Please keep the dust bags with you; only pass items to the driver in charge. We will not be responsible for any losses.

Should there be any damages or loss happen to your item during our care, we will compensate you in accordance to the second hand market price of the bag at that time. Proof of purchase is required to proof authenticity of the bag. The total compensation will not exceed SGD 1,800. The original item will not be given back to the customer once the compensation has been successfully made.

GEL REPAIR / LEATHER FILLER

Gels repair / leather filler service is to apply new lacquer / rubber on the edges of leather trimming and damaged areas which helps to conceal the stitches, worn edges and fill holes.


Any flexible texture parts, flapping area, early crack conditions, result much depends on the previous conditions before the service.


If the areas have badly damaged, after services it may look slightly uneven depending on the material and condition of the item.


This service takes approx 2-3 months’ time, in some cases may take more depends on the absorption of the gels.

STITCHES

Our workshop will look for a similar colour or any available stock of threads to do stitches. Experts might have to lift up any necessary parts of leather to fill up the missing / torn part to do the stitching. Stitches results may be uneven and have to depends on the conditions. In some circumstance, if the leather piece has been badly damaged and unable to be re-used for stitching, expert will advise to go for leather replacement. We will look for similar texture with premium quality ones.

METAL PLATING (18K/24K/Gold/Silver)
  1. Metal oxidization is due to combination of weather, moisture, storage and sometimes chemicals. If it has oxidized, it will remain the same even after polishing. We are unable to restore the metal hardware unless proceeding for gold plating.
  2. Metal hardware will polish to make it look shinier. If the hardware has been spoilt/rusted/tarnished or scratched, even after polishing it will remain the same.
  3. Gold / Silver plating result may vary in condition. Please note that there will be chances of a metal hardware turning to a limited result. It is still depending on how its parts react to its metal oxide on the surface. 

* Gold / Silver plating result may in varies condition, however, with its plating cover, can slower reaction on its metal oxidized condition. 

NOTE: Metal hardware like buckles, studs, rings, zipper, or chain, or any metal hardware’s are not included in any leather colouring services. When it comes to any metal hardware, we will do polishing to make them look shinier only. If it has already oxidized/ rusted/ tarnished or scratched, it will remain the same even after polishing. We are unable to restore the metal hardware but we can minimize its deficient appearance by doing gold plating. 

*Please be informed that gold plating can only be done if the hardware is removable and without holes. Any metal hardware plating final results shall depend on hardware’s friction / current oxidized condition itself. 6-8weeks required to do metal plating services.

LEATHER CUSTOMIZATION

All of the leather customization will be 100% handcrafted by our experts. Hence, the cutting line or any stitching line may not be evenly straight perfect as machine craft.

  • The replacement will be using premium quality of leather. We will be following the original stitches line/holes. In some special cases if the stitches area has been badly damaged, we might need to add new stitching spot for enhancement. 
  • The new leather texture may not be 100% like the original but it will be something similar. For non-black leather color, we will color the new leather to be the same color matching your item original shade. The new leather/new color may or may not last it is depending on your usage, subject to normal wear and tear.
SERVICE DURATION

Each service takes certain durations to be done (servicing duration are depending on which services required to be done).

Our updating team will update to our customers before and after pictures, and detailed remarks of servicing items. However, we will not keep updating customers with the servicing progress.

Extended Service Warranty: With the purchase of service type warranty, you will be able to send in the SAME bag again for cleaning / coloring within a year (applicable for 1 time use within 1 year).

OVERDUE DELIVERY

After the service is done, we will be in touch with the guest to deliver the items. All payments need to be made before the item is being delivered.

Bagsbutler will help to keep the item for a maximum of 1 month after the service is done. After that, a S$ 60 per month fee is applicable to use our storage service.

Bagsbutler reserves the right to resell all items in our possession after 6 months if the serviced item is not collected unless the monthly storage fee is paid.

Should there be any damages to your item during our care, we will compensate you in accordance to the secondhand market price of the bag at that time. Proof of purchase is required to proof authenticity of the bag. The total compensation will not exceed SGD 1,800. The original item will not be given back to the customer once the compensation has been successfully made. 

Once order placed and payment settled, we consider you have agreed and complied with our T&C. The services (result) are stated by our Terms and Conditions. Bags Butler retain any and all rights reserved, services rules acceptance, payment term, and duration of services, and shall be protected by law and reserved rights.
